Tips for artists
- Create your personal details so that the community can find you get to know you. Your account is not your personal details. Create one by clicking on the "create personal details" in your "Tools" block on the left of every page.
- Although you may think we understand you and your art... most of us are clueless so try to add context to your works by writing in the description.
- You know, everybody is pressed for time and attention these days! It requires hard work on your part to gain the mind-share of even the most inexperienced visitor or member. Simply tossing up your Works is not enough in today's hyper-competitive world.
- We urge you to seriously participate in the community. Be smart. Start writing about your experiences in your blog. Bookmark articles. Leave comments. Add reviews. Be relevant. The more smarts you can demonstrate, the greater the opportunities you'll have to advance your career and grow. Think about it. How to create/edit your profile? In the TOOLS block, top left, click on add or edit personal details. Important! Fill out the form so that the community can get to know you. Simply tossing up your WORKS is not going to get you noticed.
What are works? Works are made up of The Wall and Videos. Use The wall to create thumbnail images along with a gallery slideshow. Videos are self-explanatory.
What is a Blog? The term blog is a shortened form of weblog or web log. Authoring a blog, maintaining a blog or adding an article to an existing blog is called “blogging”. Individual articles on a blog are called “blog posts,” “posts” or “entries”. A person who poststhese entries is called a “blogger”.
What is an Article/how can I bookmark an Article to release01? An article is a published Text found and bookmarked by release01 members. If you see an article anywhere on the web and you think it is relevant and interesting you can create a link to it from this site. It's easy to do, it takes about 15 seconds and is very useful to other members. Posting an article to the site is as simple as clicking a link from your browser's bookmarks. If you are using Firefox, drag the release01 logo (found on the articles page) to your browser tool bar. For Explorer, right click the image and add it to your favorites. When you visit a site where you find interesting content, you can click your Bookmark let link in your favorites/tool bar area of your browser. Providing you are logged into release01.com, a form will appear. Fill in the relevant information and a link to the content will appear in the "My Articles" section of your release01 profile, without you having to browse away from the site you're looking at. Note: If you have pop ups blocked in Explorer, the bookmark let will not work. You should be using Firefox anyhow. For Visible HELP click here.
What is an Article rating?The article rating system is designed to allow you to give quick and easy feedback on whether or not you found an article useful. Simply click the UP arrow to show that the article was useful and award it one point. Click the DOWN arrow if you thought the article was not helpful to remove a point. You can quickly see how many points an article has and get a first indication of whether the community finds it useful or not.
What is a Tag? When you post blogs or articles to release01.com you add “tags” to it. Tags help to loosely categorize the information and make it easier for people to find what they’re searching for.
What is a TagCloud?A tag cloud is a visual depiction of tags that members are using. It lists tags alphabetically and by popularity, depicting more frequently used tags in a larger size.
What are Categories?The Content on release01 is organized in quot;categories" to make it better searchable and easier/quicker to find. If you are interested in Art Galleries,go to the categories bar and click on the Gallery Thumbnail. All the content categorized under "gallery" will be shown. If you create content by yourself you have the possibility th categorize your content as well, so other user will find it quickly.
What are Classified Ads?Under Classified ads, release01 members post their personal ads. Classified ads are organized in categories, for Example "Accommodation" or "Space". If you search for Exhibition Space in London, create a classified ad to see if some other member can help you.
How do add a Classified ad? Classified ads can just be added by subscribed members of release01 and will be just viewable to subscribed members. To create a new ad, go to the "create Works" section in you "TOOLS" section and click: 1. create works 2.create a classified ad 3.enter your information. How do I create Works? The create works/manage your Portfolio option is only visible for subscribed members. Find the create works button in your "TOOLS" section, 1. click on create works 2.choose the content type you want to create.
How do I upload Images? To upload Images/edit a Wall, go to 1. create Works 2. Create a Wall 3. Fill out the Form 4. Upload Images. Please watch the create Wall/upload Images tutorial.

How do I contact people? You have 1. Use the search bar 2. Browse the content on the site and click on users names to see their profile and contact them. Just members can contact and interact with each other.
