Remote control is a short film that shows a critical perspective about a human being who loses individual freedom in the age of virtual reality which seems to be full of choices. However, do we really have a choice or are we just a part of the system? The film revolves in a cycle through the use of a hallway that represents the journey that opens "doors" to different worlds.

If you ask me, Virtual reality offeres simply an alternative system to us. The interesting thing with the virtual world is that until now there are no real power structures established, appart from the power that the mass of the people in the virtual arena generate. People lose their individual freedom, because they do not realize that the internet for example, is only a tool to create more possibilities for them in their real life. The virtual world has the power to replace reality to a certain degree, it only becomes interesting though when virtual systems start effecting reality. The question is whether the mass of people understands that they can use the virtual world to gain power in their real life or whether they become more confused by all the possibilities the net has to offer. One thing is for sure, the smarter ones will take away the individual freedom of those that miss the chance to keep always one door open. When all doors are closed, then you'll run in circles...
