About me...here
PILOT: is an independent not-for-profit initiative led by artists and independent curators, that provides a ongoing support network and annual large-scale independent forum for emerging artists who do not have commercial representation.
One hundred prominent and emerging curators, critics, artists and collectors are asked to nominate one artist who is not represented commercially. The project is designed to be a platform, and catalyst, where information is exchanged and contacts made between artists, curators, collectors and gallerists.

Founded in 2004 by Rory Macbeth, Colin Guillemet, Doriane Laithier, Elizabeth McAlpine and Matthew Poole.
For PILOT:1 in 2004, we had identified an increasingly widening and under-represented gap between the support offered to artists by the art education institutions and the commercial system of galleries and art-fairs within the UK. We saw that this gap was, and continues to be populated by a large number of independent artists and curators whose work has matured beyond the remits of the educational environment, but is not seen by the commercial system.
However, this is where some of the most innovative and exciting art work and research is being produced; and yet there was no independent not-for-profit large-scale forum to represent these artists' interests. PILOT:1 offered a new innovative model to begin to explore and attempt to fill this gap in arts provision.
